AvaTrade Partner Code 128979: What You Actually Get
Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Always the same thing: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
No. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Additional trading capital depending on your deposit. That's all it does.
How much do you get?
Deposit $1,000 and get $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Not many traders reach that level.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Top tier reaches £11,200.
You can open an account with $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
The field is hidden
When you're signing up. Once you've filled in your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click it. The field expands. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Request partner code 128979 be added. They do this manually all the time.
There's a catch with the bonus
A trading volume condition applies.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
The deposit belongs to you. Withdraw it whenever you want. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
